  • Laxatives abusers tend to develop intestinal and renal diseases more easily than persons that have never abused laxatives.
  • There have been some cases of brain hemorrhages caused by narrowing of arteries.
  • Ninety five percent of anorexics develop osteoporosis later in life. Have regular bone density checks and increase your calcium intake.
  • Loss of protective intestinal mucous leaving the bowel vulnerable to infection.
  • Loss of muscle tone in the bowel, which becomes a flaccid sack that collects and retains large amounts of faecal material. 
  • Dehydration, tremors, weakness and often fainting spells.
  • Electrolyte imbalances, especially potassium loss, which can cause irregular heartbeat, and then death.
  • Rectal bleeding, irritable bowel syndrome.
  • Bowel tumors of which some are benign, however some have been found to be cancerous.
  • Damage to the bone structure due to vitamin and mineral deficiencies that will cause bones to soften this is often permanent damage.
Exercising and purging puts strain on the heart muscle, the heart can go into cardiac arrest, there is no warning to this happening.
Have regular blood checks for Electrolyte balance !!!

Vomiting...
  • Parotid gland enlargements in the neck area
  • Erosion of tooth enamel and cavities
  • Tears in the esophagus 
  • Chronic esophagus
  • Chronic sore throat
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Digestive problems
  • Anemia
  • Electrolyte imbalance
Diuretic Abuse...
  • Hypoglycemia ( Low Potassium)
  • Fatigue; diminished reflexes

Can Result In :

= dehydration and light headedness
  = possible cardiac arrhythmia/cardiac arrest
  = fainting
  = chronic serious kidney damage
Laxative Abuse...
  • Abdominal complications
  • Spastic colon
  • Sluggish Bowel functioning
  • Malabsorption of fat, protein and calcium
  • Rectal Bleeding
  • Fainting
  • Bowel Tumors (only some are Benign others are cancerous)
  • Laxatives are addictive
All the above can lead to Potassium imbalance, this can result in sudden death!
