The Anorexia and Bulimia Support Group was founded in 1992

The Purpose of the group is to assist those that suffer from Anorexia and Bulimia Nervosa and their family members.
We are affiliated to A.N.A.D. in Illinois USA and several years later we were awarded State Coordinators for Africa. During our earlier years we held regular weekly meetings for both sufferers and family members. Over the years we assisted many sufferers towards their recovery and stabilized many family members. Beginning of the new millennium we created a web site at yahoo groups as a internet support group for sufferers and family members. The group has assisted many sufferers and family members world wide to cope and recover from the disorder. Our moderators are all professionals in their field and they have devoted long hours in assisting on the internet Support Group.

Although we do no longer run evening support groups we still provide assistance to both sufferers and family members and provide referrals to professionals. During the later part of 2003 we decided to terminate the Internet Support Group for sufferers. We now have a well established free Internet support group for Parents, Family Members and Friends.
A Psychological Eating Disorder often involves the complete family and we believe that if one does not stabilize the family environment then recovery becomes even more difficult leading to many complications. We also provide individual counseling for all family members by appointment.

We continually update and familiarize ourselves to the latest treatment that is available. We also research new treatment facilities and the latest updates. We hope you find the information on this web site beneficial. We believe each and every sufferer can recover, although this may take some time one has to take responsibility for the illness and overcome denial.
